- (8/17/1878 Schoenbrunn-2/11/1971 Munich) (Germany)Painter, lithographer, and bookplate designer. Attended the Akademie der bildenden Kunste in Munich, studied under Franz von Stuck. Primarily worked in Munich. Later became a professor in Leipzig and Munich. Often considered the foremost bookplate artist in the first half of the 20th century.
